Doubt it he will go the way of Ronaldinho/Eric etc if anything who are more famous for what they do/did on the pitch than their life off it if anything. David Beckham is as big as he is because of the way he looks and who he is married to. If he relied solely on football to be famous he'd be no bigger than Nicky Butt.

The day Rooney gets a stylist to choose the clothes he comes to training in is the day we must sell him.

I know what your saying but it just seems each day we are reading a non football related story about him and if his bird has anything to do with it they will be the new Posh n Becks(well an uglier version).

Just hoping the lad keeps his feet on the ground cause he has potential to be a proper legend.

um.... yes. there may have been an element of sarcasm in my initial comment.

indeed, if he were genuinely keeping a low profile, I would not have known he was in new york.

i was already saying rooney was getting a bit big for his boots when he said "the big man is back" during the world cup...

only pure and lazurus agreed with me...

lets just hope his performances justify his big ego..

Easy for people to dismiss Beckham as a player but the fact is he was a £#%&!ing brilliant player for us.

Beckham>>>>>>>>>Nicky Butt

Lets just look where each of them has ended up

Brilliant pre 2001 imo and then a self promoting @#%&! who bleieved his own hype afterwards. It doesn't matter what £#%&!ing club they're at as neither has won £#%&! all since leaving and at least Nicky has won something since 2003. Aske Pele who he thinks is the better out of the two.
