I am afraid I am going to have to disagree. Attacks would come to a grinding holt on the half way line when the ball was passed to him or he wouldn’t be able to break with the likes of Rooney and Ronaldo. The current team doesn't carry any player but if Ruud was there we would be with the hope that he'd score a rebound from 6 yards out. Fantastic player pre 2003 but his failings were there for all to see when he played in the second half of his last season and what we could do as a team when we had a mobile hard working striker like Louis (when fit) playing intead. We didn't miraculously start playing like this at the start of this season just gone it was around the time Ruud was dropped the season before our performances started picking up. Some people are letting his form in a league where Savo Milosevic and Diego Forlan have finished as leading goal scorers in recent years cloud their judgement.

We are a better team without than with him = FACT

Cantona was arrogant, but a gent with it. Always had time for the younger lads. I don't think you'd have caught him making jokes about a who a young players dad might be a few months after said player's dad had passed away.

Oh, and Eric would've have @#%&!ted that @#%&! Keown.

Regardless of how good he is/was, RVN is clearly a bit of a @#%&!. Cantona and Law are not.

Ruud scored an incredible number of goals in England and Holland as well. Not to mention his astonishing record in Europe against the world's best.

You suffering from amnesia making out as if this season is a flash in the pan?

It wasn't Ruud holding the team back it was Keane- the turn around came in the second half of 05-06 when he was let go, and Ruud was still at United. If he was on this current team, United would still have scored plenty of goals. There is certainly alot of revisionist history when it comes to RVN, who was an excellent player for United.

Keano had been out injured since the Liverpool game though. The turn in form and style of play came when Ruud was dropped in favour of Louis. Ruud will score goals no matter where he is but his presence in the team had become detrimental to our style of play as every attack was geared around supplying him with chances.
