Well that too.

Let's maybe get him somewhere need the match day squad of ANY game yet before we start throwing him into the midfield.

he was in the match day squad against watford at OT last season and did very well up against deeney and ighalo

they are a physical side and we need to match them, hence the likes of TFM and smalling over schneiderlin and blind.

Ok, great. Um, you know we have a new manager since then, who hasn't once picked him, right?

maybe he should consider it. what are the alternatives? he hasn't started carrick this season and doesn't seem too enamoured of schneiderlin. fellaini's shortcomings have been much discussed. it's a problem area for us, we were a mess in the derby, and i don't see how giving a chance to a young player who coped well with watford's physical threat last season is the worst idea in the world. he also has experience there for his country - perhaps not at the same level, but he's clearly no slouch.

TFM is a great talent but I feel a lot of fans are in danger of hyping him up to an extreme. The longer he is out of the side the more people speak of him as a saviour.

He's 18. There should be no rush for a kid to be given such responsibility. Most of his games anyway have come as right back or center back too. The midfield argument has a basis because of the great raw qualities he has - the athleticism and engine but as of now is purely hypothetical.

Oh I'm not saying he shouldn't be there, I'm saying he isn't there. Not even close. He's nowhere near making the side in any capacity atm. So why people are fancifully slapping him in the centre of our midfield.
