Prefer Torres, but I feel a player like Zlatan would excel under Fergie

He's a cheaper version of the type of striker they will be looking at.

Think about what Larsson's role was while he was here.

Torres is the man we need.
He fits the bill. Pace, raw talent & Youth.

He's had a quiet season (albeit he has scored 15 La Liga goals)...but he will leave Athletico this summer. We mustn't waste our time with journeymen like Ibrahimovic when Torres is on the market.
It'd be frustrating to see him end up at Anfield or Stamford Bridge.

If we want an 'older' striker then we should get Anelka. At least he'd score us a few goals....or of course we could do a lot worse than make a cheeky bid for Henry. Don't get me wrong, I hate his arrogant, non-celebrating, pouting, posing, sulking, whining, self-obsessed posturing as much as the next man..But he would be a quality player for us.

All we need is the sort of striker that will keep the opposition defence busy. Strong, some bit of pace, holds up the ball, brings people into the game and a reasonable scoring record.

I think Smith would do a job for us there myself but I think his scoring record was so woeful when he came back that we couldn't be relying on him for a season.
