Its a myth that was his only good game or anything near, tbf. His stats for the first half season at United were mindblowing, for what admittedly little that is worth

Don't get me wrong, I liked Veron. Scholes claims he was the best player he played alongside. Fergie's heart must've sunk to the pit of his stomach, however, when he realised he was hopeless when tightly marshalled.

I honestly don't remember another game he stood out in btw.
