Platini

Chelsea
Newcastle

Disgusting @#%&!s. Genie is out of the bottle and it’ll get worse.

Only ones not getting any of it are the ones who are the lifeblood of the game. At least they still enjoy the only purity left in the game. For now.

Their problem is more likely to materialise in a few years when they want to bin off these players who all have four years on their contract which will need paying up before they go anywhere.

I’m hoping for a mass implosion.

Simon Jordan was on talkSport earlier going through this.

They've not actually done anything wrong yet and they have sold about £200m worth of players in the past 3 windows. The £800m they have spent is offset over a few years. Obviously if they don't win anything and they don't get money for winning things, then it becomes a problem so it's a gamble.

They're signing all of these players on 8 year contracts which means they can spread the payments over the length of said contract, this means Benfica say, get £15m a year for 8 years more or less for Enzo which they are happy with as it is a guaranteed payment which keeps them running and Chelsea don't have an immediate huge outlay so they can comply. As has been said, what happens if these players turn to shite in a couple of years, they're on huge wages or get injured? They can't get rid of them and they'll have no money for replacements.

That is for accounting, not really related to when Benfica get payment.

The Caceido transfer will take them about 60m in the red for this summer. Probably be half a dozen clubs with a bigger net spend come September.

Obvious last season was mental spending, but that's offset as you said by their long contracts. Guess we won't really know until future accounts are published, as a lot of guesswork

Wow. The galling thing for me is, how are no journos reporting on this obvious scam? They don't have to slander themselves bit at least hint towards these shady dealings? It's baffling.

Barring injury, he's probably a knocking bet to be a future England player. The surprise is more Chelsea willing to sell, but sounds like he is pushing for a transfer.

If Newcastle play him at left back he will add a new dimension to their side, given Dan Burn has been playing there.

The PL are totally to blame though. They're just leaving City to it so why would anyone else care?
Sadly they we're always gonna just leave cITY to it because nobody is remotely jealous of that joke-club but we all know that if it had been United then the The punnishment's would have been dished-out months ago!
