Default Dippers Sold

at the risk of hitting an iceberg, but couldn't see an obvious thread title.

rumours abound that the dippers have been sold to some arabs for around 500mill, well pissed off if true.

Wasn't it rumoured to be the brother of the guy who bought the berties? he's supposed to be worth even more apparently.

Let's hope it's not true, but if it is, that could have been us if we'd united against the Glazers as the scousers did against Hicks and Gillette.

We don't need a sugar daddy to be successful nor did we need one to be where we're at. We have the greatest manager in the world managing us and the only man close to him is whoring himself to take over in a couple of years time.

Make no mistake, if by some miracle Liverpool get taken over(seriously doubt this). It would take a long time to sort things out, a lot of players are leaving this summer, no cl football.

It makes me laugh when people say its more value for money to take over Liverpool than it would be United, fair enough City but liverpool? Say Liverpool are sold for 600m, then you've got to spend shitloads on the stadium, having to probably spend half a billion on a £#%&!ing terrible team and squad. This club is nowhere near United in terms of the money it makes.

An arab would be much better off buying United, far bigger name, most profitable club in the world. They wouldn't even need to put much of their own money in after they purchase the club. Once the Glazers are ready to sell they'll be lining up.

Manchester United as a private company being able to spend the money they bring in, being debt free is probably the biggest nightmare for the likes of Madrid and Barca let alone small fry like City and Liverpool. We don't even need a sugar daddy to be successful but you'd certainly prefer that over the club being leeched.

Utter fantasy. With just one 30 million pound midfielder Liverpool chased us right to the very end for the title just 2 seasons ago and yet it will take 500million for them to win the premiership? No, it would take 2 decent signings, a bit of luck with injuries and a manager who knows what he is doing.

This sort of blind optimistic shite when we are neck need in debt, not spending a penny and with the worlds best manager on the verge of retirement would be funny if it weren't so sad.

IF some rich arab is willing to buy the dippers, there will be many looking to buy us.

I can understand why Chelsea and City were purchased. Both were cheap to buy, had a decent infrastructure (stadium etc...) so it would only cost £200-300m on players to get a team competing at the highest level.

The dippers would cost £600m and the owners would have to spend a fortune on a new ground and a good £100m on players. Probably looking at £1b+ all in to get them to our level. For that money, they may as well buy the supposed biggest team in the world and enjoy far better profits.

This last bit is key for me. I find those assuming city will automatically dominate the universe for the next thousand millenia overlook the fact that managers who can deliver sustained success are very thin on the ground.

Fergie is of course a complete one-off, there's never been one like him and there never will again, the only one anywhere near him around is Mourinho and I honestly can't see him ever going to citeh. Chucking untold billions around like it's a computer game is all very well but unless you have an experienced, talented, shrewd manager who can unite a bunch of slapped arse millionaires and get them both respecting him and playing for each other, success isn't automatically guaranteed.

Plus as long as citeh have Garry Cook blindly stumbling after whoever United are rumoured to be interested in, carrying a cheque book and offering diamond-studded lear jets and solid gold houses, they'll always be a laughing stock.

Liverpool, despite being @#%&!s obviously, aren't as comedic as city but they'll still have to tread very carefully with who takes over from the jibbering wreck who's just left.

In all honesty, they have a decent enough spine, they just need a couple of extra players. With £100m they would be challenging again.

Reina

Johnson---Agger---£10CB---£15mLB

Mascherano

£20mMF---£25mMF---£30mMF

Gerrard

Torres

Obviously they'd need a decent manager and a season to gel.

You lost me with decent and naming Johnson.

You dont win leagues with a good 11, but a good squad they lack a squad and long long long may it continue

It's not blind optimistic shite, we've not done too badly in recent years under restrictions. If Liverpool get picked up then i'm pretty sure we will follow soon enough.

Liverpool chased us to the very end in 2009 because we were £#%&! for most of that season and ruined a winning formula by signing Berbatov + Liverpool beat us twice yet we finished ahead of them with a comfortable gap.

2 decent signings to make them compete for the league? Hahahaha.

Mascherano and Torres are very likely to £#%&! off this summer, regardless of new owners coming in, they've wasted 3 years winning £#%&! all and can't afford to 'wait and gel' with a new team.
