Man United sign Welsh wizard Aaron Ramsey for £5million
By Alan Nixon 13/05/2008

Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to beat Chelsea and Arsenal - by signing Welsh wizard Aaron Ramsey for £5million.

The Manchester United boss opened talks to land the 17-year-old from FA Cup finalists Cardiff City just 24 hours after clinching the Premier League title.

Ramsey's advisers are keen and the transfer is expected to be officially announced after Cardiff's Wembley date on Saturday. Midfield starlet Ramsey is viewed as the long-term replacement for Paul Scholes.

It will be a blow for Arsene Wenger, who wants the superkid to join his youthful ranks at Arsenal. And Chelsea have also been looking at Ramsey as a squad man and one for the future.

But Avram Grant has not moved as swiftly as his Champions League final opponents. United could offer Cardiff a player or two on loan next season as a sweetener.

I hope its the second.

Looks a good prospect from what I have seen of him this season. Right footed player with a good touch and good technique. Is decent on his left too. He has figured on the left wing a few times for Cardiff this season but looks to be quite flexible in terms of position. He looks comfortable in possession and seems to be able to beat a man quite easily.

That's not bad, plenty of time for him to fill out as well if he is only 17. I'm sick of us always employing midgets, we need a few big 'uns.

Rodrigo is a big lad, I reckon he will do well at OT.

Scouting report on him by Super Steve gobby @#%&! Claridge.

Sounds promising though. But, that would mean having Anderson, Rodrigo, and Ramsey who are all teenagers trying to get into 2 positions, with Hargreaves and Carrick already there, and they're only 27 and 26.
