Some stats on attacking production so far this season...
Using data extracted from the official Premier League fantasy site. Drogba and Van Persie have been included, despite the fact that they haven't really played enough minutes.

we're really playing three up front these days, aren't we? i'd be interested to see the stat for ronnie's assists last year because that's surprisingly low, and bears out the (fairly obvious) fact that he's playing almost as a striker these days, in so far as any of the front three have fixed positions. tevez, rooney and ronnie provide a very good balance for us up front with great flexibility: all of them are capable of playing both wings and through the middle.

no end product, 20 Mill? snap their hands off.
think a large reason ronnies assists are so low is down to players bad finishing and the way the stats are calculated ie deflections or rebounds dont count. ronaldo is surely responsible for creating things almost singlehandedly more than anyone else. spilled saves falling at our players, missed chances, another player nicking last touch after loads of ronaldo carving defence open etc. plenty of moments like that lead to misleading stats. |

I think one reason Ronaldos assists aren't as high as last year is simply because he's more likely to take chances he creates himself. What's he got now, 21 goals in all competitions? That's a ridiculous amount! If it means less assists, so be it. Rooney, Tevez, Giggs etc will still create plenty themselves. |

don't think you were the only one who thought Ronaldo was going to be one of the best players in the world 3 years ago. |

Then, as now (regarding Anderson), it tends to be the armchair fans that hysterically write off our players after a dip in form. Surprise surprise... |

It's amazing to think we've come from having all those issues with scoring goals at the start of the season, to having the best attacking and defensive records in the league. And it still feels like we're yet to really hit top gear on a consistent basis as a team. |

Worth noting that Nani notched up another assist yesterday (the knock-on for Tevez's second). His productivity is really quite impressive considering the number of matches he's played, although the sample size is obviously a bit small.
