They have. If they aren’t 100% certain, keep your flag down and it’ll be referred. The commentator said it during that incident.

They've instructed linesmen to keep the flag down if it looks tight. What is tight is up to the individual but someone will miss a blatant offside because they know VAR will sort it out if they £#%&! up.

....and so they should if it’s tight....

Too many times attackers are penalised....

So not all the time then ? Ya

Var will have more goals disallowed but more pens given.

Iran should have come out to play earlier, made Spain look vulnerable defensively, if they do not improve at that end they are not winning this tournament.

That guy who kissed the ball, pointed to the sky for divine intervention, did a sommersault, all with 20 seconds left would have gone down in folklore if he threw the ball.

Yep. 'But there's so much money at stake now'.

Let's just have algorithms doing everything while we turn into jelly.

Portugal vs Spain aside, this World Cup has been an absolute snooze fest.

But not been too bad so far in this tournament. Better definition of the clear and obvious rule would help. Agree though on poster mentioning corners. If you are going to have calls on every penalty area wrestle, you might as well stop the game. Part of the defenders/attackers skill set.

VAR will be OK as long as it is only used for genuinely contentious decisions, not just as a cop out.
