Don’t get me wrong I was being a little facetious but it’s difficult to attribute the league titles to him. Like I said he was my hero during the 80’s, head and shoulders above anyone else but injuries robbed him and united (and England) of more achievements.

no, no. he was unable single-handedly* to raise united to greatness because he got injured a lot (largely due to united's reliance on him). so you can't assess him as a footballing great. the fact that he was arguably better than maradona is irrelevant. george best never won northern ireland a world cup and as for giggs…. no one remembers when we won our first ten games and then the entire midfield got injured. slacker. the original paul pogba, really.
