Manchester United have applied for rail seating to be approved at Old Trafford that could see safe standing introduced at England’s largest Premier League stadium.

A recent fans’ forum meeting revealed that United made the request to their local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) in December 2019 that could see up to 1,500 of the stadium’s 76,000 capacity replaced by rail seating.

Fairly transparent attempt by the club to curry favour with disgruntled supporters.

Confirmed it was all the fault of the police so no reason for her to worry now.

Yes but the @#%&!s still object to standing sections, even though the kop stands at every game

My season ticket is in that 1500, although not been in my seat once this season as been relocated into TRA section in the Stretford End every game.

The rail seating trial should have been over there really, rather than in J stand. A fair few ST holders from J are now stood in the TRA anyway. But- once this goes ahead without any problems, it will then be extended over into the stretty and SW corner/paddock anyway. United to be fair to them have been doing really well recently on most things PR and talking to fans about improvements they can make.

it'll be extremely safe standing if there's no @#%&! at the games.

Why should TRA get all the buzz, this is a good placement to spread the atmosphere around.

Hopefully more to come...

Can’t see it not being a ‘success’. Singing section will get it once they realise that standing up at a match isn’t a cause of death.

Ridiculous how they ever arrived at that conclusion. Hopefully it will improve the atmosphere and fair play to United for listening to supporters on this.

Yeah there is that, and hopefully works out that way and the 1500 over there make it count that way. We'll see. It's probably a decent place for the trial though tbh- so that it can be 'passed' without much incident and rolled out to more areas after that- which it inevitably will be.
