Van der Sar to retire at the end of the season- official

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar will retire from football at the
end of the season, his management agency have confirmed on their website.

Anyhoo, what was the last game the last time a great United 'Keeper retired from United? A repeat would be fitting would it not?

Gutted. What a player. Would have been nice to sign him in 2001 when Fulham did, but cant complain.

Whilst we'd all love to play for United for ever, he undoubtedly has very high standards, money in the bank, and after the worries of last year probably feels he owes his wife and kids so time and undivided attention.

He's turned down an offer to stay on coaching I read as he wants some time away from the game.
