Richardson put in a string of excellent performances during his WBA loan spell, and it probably isn't an exaggeration to say that West Brom would have gone down without him.

He isn't good enough for United, and what makes matters worse is that being on the books at United results in the big time charlie attitude that most of us dislike about him.

At Sunderland, providing he applies himself (as he apparently did at West Brom) he'll shine, and playing for Sunderland will hardly feed his ego to the extent that he'll play the big time charlie there.

Besides, Keano will give him a few digs if he does.
