He's a proper number 10 and Eto'o is a proper number 9. They would be class together imo.

Honestly not sure if I'd take take him now.

He's still a very good player, but at 27 he is 7 years older than Karim Benzema. He's also a very big personality and quite outspoken. Not sure how he would fit in off-the-field.

It's a squad game and Eto'o would get injured anyway.

Doesn't mean he didn't say it though. We all know the media here are lazy, mischief makers, but it's just as likely that Marca's transcript omitted the last bit for their own reasons and that the quotes attributed to him in the papers over here are correct.

As a player he'd been unreal at United, but his personality is certainly an issue.

He's a nutcase, but maybe Fergie would feel confident that in a more stable and professional environment he'd settle down a little.

I'm not sure why you'd think that, but I've checked Marca's video of the interview and the quote I posted is accurate. He doesn't mention money.

Yeah there is no doubt he has the technique to succeed at United, and he's a fair bit quicker than any of the strikers we have.

Hypothetically speaking, would you take him or Benzema?

Very tough call.

Probably go for Benzema on the basis that he's much younger and not a total loon.

Would love to see Eto'o at United, though.

Indeed.

Not sure where the original poster was when Weah was winning personal awards.
