£#%&! Heinze....we're well rid of that @#%&!, and yes Silvestre is shite

but there's no way Brown should be on anywhere near the money Evra, Vidic and Ferdinand are...and you're forgetting paying his wages for the three years of injuries

anyway he's signed a new deal so no point moaning..as long as we sign a right-back and he goes back to being a squad player the job's a good un

I said Sky, not Murdoch.

Sky make their money from football because of the subscriptions and advertising their coverage of the game's elite teams and competitions brings in.

He's not asked for their money as far as I know. Rio's new deal will be nearly double Brown's. Seems reasonable to me, you've said yourself he's been playing better this season, he's an England international and has load of medals. The fact we paid him whilst injured is irelevant, this will have been taken into account anyway. No one moaned over Keane's cruciate injury, or when Eric was banned for 10 months. Even Rio was paid whilst banned for 8 months, it happens every where, I think you just don't like him because he's held out for money off your mate Glazer.

Sky/Murdoch, same thing. They make their money by charging advertisers and subscribers. Glazer makes his money by charging United fans to watch United. Sky probably make as much money out of Lost and The Simpsons as Sky Sports.

when i was doing my own thing a couple of years ago - i did some bits and pieces based around Sky TV , i.e flogging pitch branding on televised Super League games, and i had a client seriously looking at that Casino drama on SKY one in terms of sponsoring it - the audience figures are £#%&! all really, the production is so good, i think you kind of assume everyone watches it, but they don't

not so much the audience figures but the money Sky make from advertising during sporting events is huge why do you think they paid so much to keep showing the CL

They are pretty shit on the face of it, yes. But the football figures are the biggest, and not inconsiderable by any means. And they reach some very large groups of people in pubs and clubs (who themselves pay through the roof for it) as well which is important.

More importantly still, the pictures are sold around the globe.

No one believed my tough love story and I don't think anyone even noticed my post that explaining that Capello and Fergie decided together to not pick Carrick for England.

People would rather believe Real's new 200 million dollar Ronaldo bid.

So we should be enternally grateful the bumbling idiot has stuck with us, making mistake after mistake? No £#%&!er would've touched him before now with the amount of injury trouble he has had.
Also I don't know if you've seen Brown's house in Prestbury, but I doubt after seeing it that we are paying him peanuts.

Hmmmmm, Leg SAF?

Wes had a bad game Sunday, but he has looked £#%&!ed since Roma away. Given he has played the most games in the squad the season, it's hardly surprising he is begging to wane. Up until that point, he has been excellent.

Kev, Wes was probably being offered what was, in comparison to the rest of the squad and several other 'squad' players in the country, a pittance of a pay rise. Good luck to him, not letting the club take the piss just 'cos he's a homegrown lad. It happens in all business' those that have been there since being apprentices get paid a damn sight less than those brought in, it's £#%&!ed up.

I'd rather have him than any of the 1st line back up at the other members of 'the top four' in the UK.

not disputing he's had a good season, maybe his best ever since breaking through and before the injuries and when you see what useless @#%&!s like Saha are on of course he's entitled to demand more money....I just don't like the way he and his agent went about it trying to force Ferguson's hand at a time when it looked like Neville was finished (will he ever be the same again btw) and the fact Ferguson stood by him when he was very injury prone

he's a good squad player and would be cover for Rio and Vidic along with Pique but it would be crazy to make him first choice right-back

anyhoo he's signed the deal so let's hope he continues as he has been playing in most games this season, he was shocking last week....although I also though Evra was poor defensively last week

The injury thing goes 2 way, he got those injuries in the line of duty for United, so it is partly their responsibility, in reality he could've just worked out his contract and retired a wealthy man, but each time he has come back. He has been in reserve for the majority of his career and when he became a regular and we bought in new defenders, he didn't spit the dummy and ask for a transfer. The tactics they used may have left a sour taste, but he was being paid as back up, expected to appear 20-30 times a season, mostly as sub, now he is all but 1st choice, expected to play 60 times. He is damn right to take advantage of that window of opportunity, especially after the way United have dicked him over contract negotiations in the past.

Has he actually signed? When will it be announced?

I think Evra was awful against Arsenal in the 1st half, showed a clear lac of thinking at times and dawdled on the ball a lot. Same as Browny though, played a lot of games and is probably starting to feel it. Can see Silvestre playing at Blackburn.

And can we get back to talking about the Genius Geordie please, we seem to have gone a bit off topic
