MATCH FACTS
Quote:
Hungary
  • Hungary have lost just two of their last 14 games (W6, D6).
  • The last time the Hungarians advanced from the group stage of a major tournament finals was at the 1966 World Cup.
  • They have never won more than one match at a European Championship finals.
Portugal
  • Portugal attempted 49 shots in total against Iceland and Austria - no other side had more than 36 shots in their opening two matches at the tournament.
  • They allowed their opponents just attempts on goal (including blocked efforts) - no side faced fewer shots in their first two games at Euro 2016.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play his 17th game at the finals of the European Championship - breaking the record jointly held by Lilian Thuram and Edwin van der Sar (16 matches).
  • Ronaldo has attempted a total of 20 shots at Euro 2016 - more than nine teams tried during the first two round of games. No other player had more than nine attempts at goal in the first two rounds of matches at Euro 2016.
  • Ronaldo has had 36 direct free-kick shots in major tournaments for Portugal, but hasn't scored with any of them.
  • The Portuguese have made it through the group stage at all six of their previous European Championship finals appearances.
  • They have only claimed one victory in their last six games (D4, L1) at major tournaments.

FUNKY MATHS

If both games in this group end in a draw, but the Portgual game has 2 more goals overall (i.e. Portugal draw 1-1 and Iceland draw 0-0) both teams will be level in 2nd and 3rd with identical goal difference/scored/conceded. As they drew 1-1 in their game, it would go to the fair play table.

Remember, its 1 point for a yellow and 3 for a red.

Iceland currently have 5 yellow cards, whilst Portugal have 2.

Should the card count end up equal Portgual (4th) would go through as the second placed team on the basis they are higher in the coefficient ranking than Iceland (27th).

Not sure why the match facts bit did that big gap and separated the quote.

Won't let me edit it.

Yeah, which would be a 0-0 Iceland and 1-1 Portugal as Switchers mentioned? Its bloody complicated. Knowing Englands luck that's how it will turn out

Great picture of Ronnie on the OP btw

** Not complicated at all So a last minute yellow card for kicking the ball away or whatever could change our opponents in the last 16

Portugal 1-1 Hungary and Austria 0-0 Iceland doesn't sound that far-fetched. What's it paying?
