Sir Alex on Lindegaard "Negiotiations are over... he'll join us in January. We've got to prepare for the day when Edwin... bows out."

So he is the replacement, not the backup to a future signing.

I think VDS might stay another year.

De Gea's having a nightmare today.

He's been shakier than usual in recent weeks, still only a youngster and clearly affected by all the transfer talk. Perhaps the last few weeks has seen us delay or put off a move for him.

As I said before, Lindegaard 26, De Gea 20 and Amos 20 would be a bit too inexperienced to have as your gk trio. Looks more sensible with Neuer in there as a 24 year old.

Wasn't Reina only 23 when he went to Liverpool? World class goalkeeper apart from a few howlers in the 06/07 season and how he deals with crosses at times.

Frank Arnesen has been speaking about Lindegaard in the Danish press.

Quote:
"He has all the prerequisites.
“He is physically imposing, he is quick and he's really good on the goal line.
"There are no deficiencies, so it's up to him if he really wants to succeed.
"It depends on his mental strength. No-one really knows how a player is going to adjust.
“There are some goalies who come to the Premier League, who have been fantastic in their countries and then they come to England and get a shock.
"It is an entirely different kind of football."
Arnesen continued: “When he played in Norway, it's at a level where you think that he is a talent, but he is not 18 years old anymore,
"Therefore you want to see these players at a higher level.
"So he was lucky that he broke into the national team when Thomas Sorensen was injured, and when he did, he did it brilliantly.
"Interested clubs could see he could perform at a higher level."

It's very possible the transfer talk has affected him.

Atletico are all but out of the Europa League now.

Ole talking a bit about him, hopefully this bit is true.

Quote:
Solskjaer told the club's official website: “It’s dangerous to say, but he’s very good with his feet so he reminds me of Edwin, in the way he can play football.

Not to speak ill of the Great man, but he once claimed Gibson was a 'Ferrari', recommended Mame Biram Diouf as a goal machine and is a massive fan of Bebe.

He's either a visionary, or his opinion is to be taken wit a pinch of salt.
