Worth a punt i reckon. Plus that seems a hint from Fergie, suggesting he never brings in old guys, did he say it with a smirk on his face?
have we taken a decent corner since he left?

who would this benefit really? he couldnt even cope in a slower paced Serie A last season. Seeking for fitness and he might get the odd 15mins here and there.
fergie wouldnt want the obvious media hysteria over it either which would just be distracting for the team now.

I think most people here would agree with all that - the point is though, they (and me) would still rather have him than our present "Number 7". Which says it all, really

You wouldn't think his dead ball delivery would suffer that much as he ages, but it has.

I wish he would just pack it all in now tbh.

Its all getting a bit sad, pathetic and desperate.

He's probably thinking about worming his way back into the England team somehow. That's forever at the forefront of his mind, it seems.

I loved him when he was at United. But he was the definition of over-rated IMO.

Fair enough, he was a great crosser and dead-ball specialist, and had a good work-rate, but he received the hype and attention of a player that was one of the top three in the world, and he was never close to that bracket IMO. Okay, the hype was largely due to his wife, but that just makes it worse IMO.

Out of that great midfield four of Beckham, Keane, Scholes and Giggs he was easily the least important. And it showed when he got dropped regularly in favour of Solskjaer on that right flank in his final season.

He's a legend, no doubt. But there are far more players that have worn the red shirt over the years that I place above him, and in a way I'm glad we got rid when we did, as the Ronaldo years were great memories.

Still, like I said, he's a legend. Just wish he'd save some dignity and retire now.

Didn't he get voted in the top 3 once?

I believe he did yeah. I don't think he was in the top three players in our side at the time though, let alone the world. Didn't Shearer come second in that award once as well? Shows what a mockery it can be at times. Sneijder not being considered this year is a joke as well.

Beckham was a great player, no question; and was arguably the best in the world at doing certain things on the pitch, such as crossing and taking pressure free-kicks.

But the hype and attention that has followed his career like a circus has largely been down to his captaincy of England, his choice of wife and his determination to market himself as a brand. All of which are things that I have no interest in.

Despite that, he's still a top Red.

he's been a brilliant player, one of the few english players to make any kind of impression overseas. don't begrudge him prolonging his career as best as he can, not arsed in the least about it tbh.

Don't you find it a bit pathetic now though? Begging for loan moves to Europe whilst he's signed to a Yank club that he struggles enough to play for.

And how much has he actually won since he left United? One La Liga title?

I'd hate to have seen Giggs and Scholes end their careers like Beckham has.

After a bad start, he's done some good things for LA Galaxy. Two good seasons in a row, good crowds, seems to be committed to it despite one eye on the England team and a European loan.

Beckham has said that he would only return to the Premier League with United, where he won six titles before moving to Real Madrid in 2003, and he has snubbed interest from Everton.
"begging"

why would anyone give a flying £#%&! how much he's won since he left united? good luck to him i say. great servant, never a bad word to say about united, hope he has a good last couple of years playing and then a good career in media or whatever.

I couldn't care less what he won after United, but you said he made an impression overseas. His trophy collection post-United doesn't really show that he made that great of an impression IMO. I'd even say his time in America has been a failure, in footballing terms anyway. Although he didn't go there solely for footballing reasons.

He may come out with statements saying that he wouldn't come to another English club, but its obvious he wants to be playing somewhere in Europe. Its all we've heard about since he £#%&!ed off to LA.

He should just do the decent thing and retire now, instead of trying to resuscitate his extinct England career. And lets be honest, that's what this loan shit is all about ultimately.

Fergie hit the nail on the head regarding Beckham. As soon as he got married to that @#%&! he embraced a celebrity culture that compromised his focus on football. The circus that came with it was, and still is, unbearable.

We got rid at the right time. Still, like you say, he was a great servant. But IMO his off-field activity contributed significantly to his eventual sale.

you'll hear plenty of warm words from madrid fans about beckham. in any case again, i'm not arsed where he goes or what he does and i don't see why any united fan would get upset about it. let him retire when he wants, best of luck to him, top red.
