Phillips did it once in his career in the top flight.

Shearer was one of the best strikers of the past 30 years.

His first goal last night. Yes he scored but will that level of technique be up to the job when it really matters.

I doubt he will give a shit when he hasn't scored for ages. Hopefully it will be the goal that gets him on a run again.

True, might not be what I think we need in the long term but we still need his goals in the now.

Point taken Tibs but all part and parcel. Our two goals in the 99 cl final right off the top of my head.... top level - you are cherry picking and really, it’s his overall effect. Not that I’m 100% convinced. Short term, I can cope. Then there’s the results/aesthetics balance.

He wasn’t bad, Fergie .

Totally agree mate, he’s going to score 20 plus goals a season and we are lucky to have him, he’s one of the top 5 strikers in the premiership.

Top 5 strikers in the PL really isn't so bad, even if that department isn't quite as strong as it used to be.

He’s actually 2nd in the list of current players, behind Aguero and just in front of Kane, not counting Rooney. At 24 he could possibly break all records, hopefully it’s with us.

Probably barely scrapes into the top 5 attackers in Manchester ffs. He’s the second best striker at United, at best.

I should have made it clearer, in goals scored in the premiership. They are both 24 maybe Kane will catch up, maybe not.
