Probably, they would improve most of the squads in the league.

Not really the point though is it, not particularly happy with Mourinho and his public statements on injured players, doubt it sits well in the dressing room. Easy to brush it aside when it is unpopular players.

I don't think it can be said that Smalling didn't get a chance.. or Jones for that matter. But out of the spotlight, allowed to play in the same position regularly, less onus put on them etc. They'll be good.

Indeed, can understand Shaw and Jones' reticence when it comes to rushing back from or playing injured given the last few years they've had. A bit unfair to put that pressure on them too, imo.

This idea that Jones is some sort of workshy malingerer Popped up this season because of Mourinho's public comments. Never been accused of it before, if anything he has been too brave and reckless physically. Mourinho being a dick, an inconsistent dick at that towards injured players is a recurring theme of his career.
