Very telling comment.

Great player, easy pick for a Utd all time 11.

Wonderful player, top red, top man.

A footballer more than a defender if that makes any sense whatsoever.

not so sure.

since paul mcgrath is a must, you could afford to put in a defender who would score more than four goals, would talk more sense and would stick his face in where it might get kicked.

love rio, but all time xi? if all time means last 20 years, maybe.

To a degree, yes. He seemed to grow up quite a bit in recent years, though.

Shame about the way R9 destroyed him at Old Trafford, but he had pretty much everything you'd want in a modern central defender - pace, strength, balance, discipline, timing, intelligence, leadership, technical ability and a highly active Twitter account.

Genuinely world-class in his pomp, and is probably the best centre-back I've seen in a United shirt. Tbf, he's probably the 2nd best central defender in European football of the last 15 years, after Alessandro Nesta.

Top Red, Rio.

bar maldini and nesta, no better central defender in last 20 years. From 2006-2009 he was the best centre back in the world and the most consistent. Love rio

Don't think that was the case. I think he actually was thinking about going. Before deciding to stay and prove himself as a United great

As Watcher said in the second post, one of the finest defenders to grace the shirt imo.
