I think he'd be a magnificent signing.
Someone like Nani could go the other way.
Vidal stopped being a good signing when Juventus are looking for £40 million + for central midfielders.

You do realise we haven't got a hope in £#%&!ing hell of getting him, right?

Madrid will be all over him like Rolf Harris on a friend of the family.

United rocking up and buying the star young player of the world cup. What £#%&!ing reality are you living in?

Such a shame, really. At the end of the day we are right up there with Real and Barca in terms of global support (actually just googled it and it seems we actually have well over double the support of our nearest rivals, Barca, and are the world's most supported team: 659 million people worldwide are supposed to support us). Yet when it comes to signing the very best of the world's established top players we never seem to be able to get them. We should be looking to sign Messi, bring Ronaldo back or get in Rodriguez, yet we just know that they won't come.

Is money the major issue here, or is it lifestyle I wonder (do South Americans/continental players really want to live in the north west of England when they can enjoy their millions in the heat of Spain) ?

Lifestyle would be the main drawback I would say. Plus the big two in Spain will usually pay bigger wages for the real world stars. Physicality of the English league can put some off too.

Utd should have more financial resources than Real in the FFP era.
