So, is Financial Fair Play actually starting to affect siddy?
Nice boost for Hargo's confidence too.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/foo...fair-play.html Mancini: UEFA financial rules made signing Hargreaves a no-brainer By Sportsmail Reporter Last updated at 8:29 AM on 8th September 2011 Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has revealed bringing the club in line with UEFA's financial fair play regulations was the reason for the acquisition of Owen Hargreaves. The Italian coveted Roma's Daniele de Rossi and Real Madrid's Fernando Gago - but settled on the 30-year-old former Manchester United midfielder because of a lack of income. Mancini told The Independent: 'Gago is a player we liked a lot. We couldn't spend any more money also for the question of financial fair play. 'De Rossi is one of the best midfielders in the world but I don't believe he will ever leave Roma. So in midfield we signed Hargreaves, who was out of contact.' Mancini's assistant David Platt added: 'We needed a central midfield player but unfortunately in terms of players going out and bringing in transfer fees, a lot have gone out on loan, so fees haven't come in for them. You have to get creative.' |

To be fair though, if they are having to curtail their spending during this "soft enforcement" period, it may be is a bit encouraging on this score? |

He should try getting a tour of a football pitch by Roberto Baggio or someone instead, it might be more useful. |

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...rticle2149494/ there was talk this morning of the punishment for breaking the ffp regulations being the loss of cl income, which i am sure is a huge threat to city. they must be quaking in their boots at that one. the only meaningful punishment would be exclusion but it's not going to happen. however much the likes of bayern and united hate what's going on at city (chelsea, psg, malaga), they won't set a precedent that can come back and be used against them in the future. |

They're also talking of transfer embargos, which is a brilliant idea in my opinion... |
