As stated in the original post, there is still some pleasure in football - despite Bellers' best efforts to be a killjoy.

isn't a verb a doing word? Worst nickname for Berbatov ever.

If your idea of entertaining football is someone trapping a ball on the halfway line then fair enough. I'm just glad he's at Fulham.

if that was Rooney it'd've bounced off his shin to an opponent 25 yds away

Great touch, remember he pulled one out of the sky against Chelsea in the community shield too which was unreal. Still, this is the best first touch you'll see:

we used to have a small bit of grass in the back garden that was only good for practicing ball skills. i became an expert - yes, expert - at lobbing the ball straight up in the air as high as i could chuck it and then perfectly executing a cushioned half-volley backheel through my legs and into the goal, or planter as my mum called it...

fast forward a few years, iirc to the 2010/11 season when berbatov's goals won united the league, and the same situation finally came up in a united game on the tele. I think it was a routine home win over some shite or other - fulham maybe - and the ball takes a mad spiralling ricochet up into the air, as high as the stand if not higher. as it drops only berbatov is there waiting for it, looking about 10 yds offside standing on the 6yd line. the keeper stays rooted to his line and all berbatov has to do is cushion a perfectly executed half-volley backheeler into the net. anyway, to end a long story, he only tried to pull it down instead and completely £#%&!ed up his first touch :shakehead:
