Exclamation No chance of Chicharito starting at Ibrox then

Fergie set to advise Javier Hernandez to ditch his pre-match Catholic prayer at Ibrox

JAVIER HERNANDEZ could be forced to abandon his pre-match Catholic prayer when Manchester United face Rangers in Glasgow on Wednesday week.

Deeply religious Hernandez – nicknamed Chico – kneels on the centre spot and prays *before kick-off in every game he starts. But it is believed United boss Alex Ferguson – a former Rangers player – will advise the 22-year-old to ditch his ritual at Ibrox.

Rangers fans have already vowed on websites to target Hernandez if he goes through his normal routine and that will worry Ferguson who is anxious for United’s visit to pass peacefully.

Rangers officials say there is no question of them banning Hernandez from his usual pre-match routine, which he started in his native Mexico.

But he runs the risk of antagonising anti-Catholic Rangers supporters if he is included in boss Ferguson’s line-up when the teams meet at Ibrox.

Hernandez played against Rangers at Old Trafford but Ferguson realises the atmosphere is far more volatile in Glasgow, notorious for religious sectarianism.

Sir Alex will undoubtedly not use him in this game to kill any potential issue with his pre match ritual, the right thing to do imo.And it's the respect Rangers fans deserve from one of their own.

Chicharito will understand, it's for his own health and safety.

anyone who thinks letting cheech do his prayer shows a lack of respect doesn't have an opinion worthy of respect.

the fact that fergie will do it "for the lad's own sake" doesn't make it right.

if anyone objects, rangers should be banned from football.

maybe we should rest nani, snoop and giggsy in case anyone throws bananas at them too.

no chance of rooney playing.

carrick will probably be the first name on the team sheet. he'll be ok as he looks like a #@&%!.

I'm sure if he does it, there will be no issue from the rangers supporters. They are very receptive to others views and beliefs.

Safingtons is set to be dissapointed with the response to this post, a source suggested. He might be trying to whip up an online row but it's possible that it maybe won't happen as his attempt lacks any subtlety.

To be honest though, I think he looks more like Gullit than a scouser

Edit: Scratch that, it's John Conteh he looks more like...who was scouse..
