it all needs tightening up imo..... only qualification for playing for a nation should be place of birth or place of parents birth.......same for coaching staff....end of....none of this " he went there for a holiday as a kid" or " he has a vast collection of stamps from the country so he can play for them" %@#$&!s.

you can mix and match in club football, internationals should be strict.

I think you'll find they can't choose to play for a country for those reasons.

In the case of grandparents it can be a bit of a pisstake (Clinton morrison).
But if you grow up in a country all or most of your life and have citizenship then why not?

We tried to get him in January 2008 when he went to Werder for just 4.3m euros, just seen an old quote elsewhere;

He said: ''It's a big honour for me that such a great club like Manchester United wanted to buy me. But their offer came in too late - a day before the window closed - and I had already given Bremen my word.''

Like I said the other day, no doubt we are aware of him, and he cannot cost silly money with his contract ending next year.

what he said... Andy Townshend FFS... Is it true that Walkers crisps were glad Ireland didn't go to the WC as they didn't think potato flavoured crisps would sell very well?
