This sort of blind optimistic shite when we are neck need in debt, not spending a penny and with the worlds best manager on the verge of retirement would be funny if it weren't so sad.

I agree with most of that. If the sale goes ahead, and the new owners had lots of cash, firstly they would probably be able to keep hold of their big players, secondly bring in a decent manager with the promise of funds to spend, thridly, strenghten the obvious weaknesses in their squad. So basically they would have the correct ingredients for a real go at the league next year.

We are stuffed regardless of what happens to the dippers, no one is going to pay 1.5billioin for us, it's a crazy figure, so the gimps will contiune to leech money our of the club fora s long as they can.

We are doomed, but I was at least hoping to be able to laugh at the dippers going belly-up first.

simple fact is, with city and liverpool both looking to shaft us for trophies, every player we look at will get tempted away by ridiculous financial packages.

fergie is getting old, he'll have to retire soon. when he does we will have no money and an average manager. that is when we will slide down the leauge and probably go into liquidation.

meanwhile city will have started bagging cups and liverpool will have made it 19 (at least)

great.

Didn't they the season before last? Sure they were crowned Champions in March and there supporters were singing "We're gonna win the league!"

The Glazers are going to have to sell soon (ie in the next few years) even if they don't want to. Nft.

And when that happens there WILL be people wanting to buy us, so you can all stick your doom where it don't shine

This.

Totally sick of all the £#%&!ing doom on here. There should be a sub-forum for the doom-mongers who want to tell us that we cant sign anyone, we won't win £#%&! all, nobody will want to buy us, our players aren't good enough, City are better than us etc. Does my £#%&!ing nut it.

"Cheeky bid for Dwight Yorke?Could still do a job imo.But we couldn't afford him anyway" - oh just £#%&! off.

Don't suffer mate, if you don't like it, £#%&! off. It's a United forum. It thrives on different views, if everyone agreed with everything everyone said, no one would bother coming on here.

They've been bought by sand people more times than they've won the Prem. Every season and then nothing.

It's not that though is it? It's just the same few people getting on every thread with the "We're £#%&!ed! We're signing no-one!" shite. I'm not asking everyone to pretend all is well and we'll romp everything next year, but whats the point in carrying on, saying the same thing at every given opportunity? It doesn't matter what thread it is either. You could be talking about shopping and then some clown will pipe up with "Yeah, United cant even afford a jar of coffee" - hilarious! Yeah, we know the £#%&!ing situation but why keep harping on about it? That's not a 'different view' it's just boring and bordering on being childish.

Debate/different opinion, £#%&!ing great.Dull, repetitive negativity on every £#%&!ing thread - shite.

This place has always had people who bang on about stuff at every opportunity. Topics as wide ranging as the Glazers, the tories, the monarchy, Northern Ireland, scousers, bitters and so on. You can't just single out the biggest threat our club has ever faced and say stop banging on about it.

It's not about 'asking people to stop banging on about the Glazers'.Who's said that? If you think that's my point, you've more than missed it.

It's about the whinging every time any team around us is linked with some player (who they've not even signed yet) or there's even a rumour of any team getting some cash in.Have the Dippers been bought/sold today? I've not read anything, yet there's some on here already going on about them 'winning number 19' ffs.

£#%&! knows what will happen to us in the long run, we can only hope but there's some on here that have us dead, buried and out of existence already (and they tell us every two minutes).

This isn't the biggest threat the club has ever faced.

Go on then, what's worse than saddling us with debt we can't afford.

Well yes, I was thinking that myself

Not everybody will know that in the days following Munich, at least one and possibly two other top division clubs rang Jimmy Murphy to offer him the chance of taking over as a manager - beyond much doubt a deliberate, calculated attempt to put us out of business for good

And I also remember reading there were only two other clubs actually willing to help in the immediate aftermath in terms of offering possible players. They were, I believe, Nottingham Forest and - utterly incredible as it may seem now - Liverpool.

Nuff said.

And he'll then tell us how he had to battle with no money to spend etc...but didn't speak out at the time.

The sympathy and support that we received following Munich meant that the club wouldn't have gone bust. The Glazers could well achieve that.

And, of course, there'd be no takers for Manchester United.
