Yeah, massive success that was tbf.

Decent enough player, but I'd put his contribution up there with Henning Berg and Philip Neville, not Stam and Yorke ffs.

And of course without Berg we'd have been utterly £#%&!ed. So there you go.

Cheers.

Stam played more games that season than Blommers and Berg put together.

Both played their part, but to say they made an equal contribution as players who were ever present in the team is just %@#$&!s.

Remember Jordi Cruyff getting us that point against Derby? Up there with Schmeichel that season imo, couldnt have done it without him.

Yeah. That's exactly what I'm saying

No Blomqvist, no treble. Simple as. So in that sense, every bit as important.

Gothenburg were a good team that year.

Didn't they top the group?

dunkers, I'd have a hard time slating a single one of the treble lads.

Even Greening. Well, maybe Greening.

I'm not slating anybody, they were all fantastic that season, even David May

I remember all the seasons when an injury to Giggs £#%&!ed us and left us with no-one on the left. Even after Blomqvist left it took us until Park/Nani arrived to replace him and his effectiveness on that side. The lack of that player has cost us big time before and since the treble season, no question.

I think '98-99 and '07-08 were the only 2 seasons when we have truly had a decent quality replacement in every position, and it showed.
