Default My Dad's from Lincolnshire, not exactly a football hotbed..

..but I still remember him recalling how he was doing his National Service up in Scotland and they were all gathered around the radio listening for updates just after the crash.. horrified at the loss of young life and talent, but in a way, relieved it'd spared their best player who was alive but still fighting for his life... and Matt had survived to.. then he said he remembers vividly seeing the headline a few days later on a newspaper that someone had left in he canteen that Dunc hadn't made it, and he cried.

He said the Munich Disaster, "Britain at War", the Cuban Missile Crisis, Kennedy being assassinated and Mike Hawthorn being killed were the events he'll never forget.

Matt Busby - the greatest manager ever, NQAT.

This footage of the last match they ever played. It's from Serbian TV and has more footage than the British Pathe one

This is also a nice tribute to the Busby Babes

Gone but never to be forgotten

Really well done but any time I see it I think of that one black spot on the 2007/08 season

Losing our proud record of not having lost at OT to city since 1974 :shakehead:

Yep, as Fergie said the players got a bit overwhelmed by the occasion, unfortunately. Beaten by a very poor City side.

Actually read an 'article' written by a leeds fan on this earlier which made my £#%&!ing blood boil, a load of point scoring nonsence from abhorrent scum of a club

Never forgotten, R.i.p.

Hopefully those wearing the red shirt on Sunday put in a performance.

But it still counted for £#%&! all when the season was over, so justice was served

56 years - but never forgotten.

Being at the game that day, I've never been more proud of our club. Despite everything they carried it off perfectly. A tribute to a tragedy of our past with no grief, mawkishness or bullshit. Watching back, the piper coming out and the whole ground singing the red flag still gives me goosebumps.

And we may have lost that day but the boys gave us all the ultimate tribute to Sir Matt's boys in Moscow that May
