Getting a bit embarrassing being linked with some of these players. It’s like they’ve accepted that we’re a mid table club.

I think we have to accept that we aren't getting a top line player on the last day of the window, we also have to accept that most top players won't want to sign for us in our current position, so we just have to buy better than we have and improve from there. City were signing Gael Clichy, Adebayor and Gareth Barry when they were in our position despite being super-rich. We are also broke.

Better than what we have is currently anybody when it comes to forwards/strikers such is the paucity of options

Still the right decision to bin Lukaku

I don't see the harm in most being touted as a back up/emergency. If this was the Summer I could understand the frustration.

Just more shite planning. Good job there's a walkout

That's the problem. That and the players we think we can sign/want to sign are too pricey or their clubs don't want to sell (Dembele) leaving us looking a trifle stupid.

They were good players at the time.

They weren't looking at Islam Slimani, some ex Watford player who £#%&!ed off to China and a lad who Ole used to coach in the reserves 10 years ago.

Jesus christ.

If we want a good short term fix, it should be Oliver Giroud.

Didn't they spend stupid money on Roque Santa Cruz?

They also signed Aguero and David Silva.

Eventually. Robinho was the one you should've referenced tbh. They built up to that sort of signing though, and could chuck whatever money they liked at it. And we just signed Fernandes, obviously.

Totally different scenario. City didn't have any decent players and then began buying better players. Sure there were some duds but they were better quality than what they were used to.

We, on the other hand, are going for players which are, let's be honest, not at the level we should be signing- short term or not.

So not a completely different scenario then

Fair point.

Still, Slimani, King, Ighalo...

Sessions and all that but not Manchester United players.

Slimani and Ighalo have probably been offered because they're available, if we wanted them they'd be here.

King is a bit different.

Jovic on loan looks a no brainer - see if we could get an option to buy
Cavani would be worth a punt
King wouldn't be too bad if it was a loan but £20m + seems insane

I don't think Jovic is a realistic option tbh, if it was you'd think every club wanting a striker would be all over it.. Spurs.. us etc.

Cavani would want £300k a week..

Would much rather have Lukaku than no one. I think people are a bit sentimental with Martial, he’s either not good enough or he hasn’t improved as much as he should have.

Cavani is available and we’re sniffing at £#%&!ing Josh King.

Think we're missing a trick with Aubameyang

Busy £#%&!er that can lead the line and knows where the back of the net is

Arse were asking Barca for offers of 50 mil to talk

Value in the market IMO

Can't even hang on to a 50 mil striker? Strange club.

Selling to us seems ridiculous but they've done it before. No wonder those AFTV bozos £#%&!ing hate United.
