I think we need another. We still lack a player who will look to dictate a game. Tho Fred is a necessary signing imo.

As for others, I think Barella will be a good player. But he won't be ready for a club like United for a couple of seasons at least.

Players can generally play longer nowadays though. You should get 3-4 good years out of a top class 28 year old.

But as somebody said up thread, a lot of Bale's game is his explosiveness; he doesnt seem the sort who can turn into Teddy at 32 and cpntrol a game without moving. No doubt he can still title home free kicks at that age but he probably won't be counter attacking and scoring 8 seconds after we're defending a corner.

It's not weak, but it's not great. Get your point though. Fred's YouTube highlights show me a player better than Fellaini or Herrera, but not much more. Need someone like Savic to really elevate the midfield. Fred alone will be a little underwhelming. He'd be playing off the bench at City.

Yes, the thread line up is midfield breadth more than depth I would say.

We need another, somebody like Veratti who can control a game. If Pogba actually turns up and shows his ability, him Fred and another, along with Matic would be a top midfield.

Full backs are so important too, Young and Valencia do OK but we need proper full backs, makes a huge difference to a teams game going forward.

Either way I just think no matter what we are cursed now. We could sign anyone and we won't get the best out of them. Things have gone too shit since Fergie retired. Tbf it seems last summer and this the club actually have a plan with transfers.

29 next month. So before he'd start playing for us. And as I seem to have to keep repeating, it's about the style of the player and the extent to which they rely on acceleration. Give me a 32 year old Scholes all day.
