Manchester United keen on Harry Kane but Tottenham won't sell star striker they value at close to £200m

Tottenham have absolutely no intention of selling their most-prized asset to a Premier League rival and find a £100m valuation of the 23-year-old a laughable notion
£200mill? cheap for a 23 year old goal machine

Wonder how much the Garry Birtles fee would be now adjusted for inflation.

It would have to be football inflation, as opposed to real world inflation

Record fee at the time (or deffo thereabouts)

Worst ever signing for me. A record signing striker who went the whole £#%&!ing season without striking. It wasn't like he only got a few starts. One sub in those days and he was a regular starter.

Levy would sell at the right price. He loves it. Being the guy who got £180m out of United would be worth more to him than keeping the player.

On.

A world record fee that doubles the previous record is £#%&!ing well on the way there to be honest.

£200million is an insanity you could get Neymar AND Verratti for that and still have change.

He'd end up like Birtles, Terry Gibson, Alan Brazil, Falcao etc...

They'd have his smug bald head on a spike outside the new white hart lane.

Cool

Easily top 3 to buy in world football right now...

I'd say with Ronaldo ageing, Neymar just moved, Messi barca's chewbacca he probably is the best in world football now..

I'd drop 150 on the lad...

He's at a club where he's happy to stay (ie wont force a move), they don't want to sell and thanks to silly money for the TV deals they have no need to sell.

Nothing short of £200m is going to get him moving. Barca offered £120m for Coutinho ffs.

He's obviously brilliant for Spurs but it would be interesting to see him outside that bubble where he's treated like royalty whatever he does. If he moved to a Madrid and didn't start well or hit a bad patch leading to his fans whistling instead of serenading him regardless, would he be as mentally tough.

Will be interesting to see what he does at the World Cup. He was poor at the Euros last year.
