Yerra, stop. Kid's record is good. Even Wenger says he's a huge talent. £#%&!ing Bellion.

Good thing at the moment though, is that we're moving very quick and the answer won't be drawn out for too long. Going to be interesting
By the time martial develops enough to answer the question, it wont be lvg in charge.

Didn't he replace Berbatov up top at the end of last season and go on to get 8 in 12

Maybe the club feel he's about to explode as a talent

Seems a huge gamble to me but let's give the kid a chance

In a full English season we could expect 8 goals....

Stunning.

Let's give him a chance though....he could be about to explode.

Rooney had a poor goal scoring record when he moved from Everton to Utd.

Illustrates the problem of how few top quality attacking players are out there and not already at a major club, very weak time for out and out strikers especially, perhaps the influence of players like Henry, Ronaldo. Messi and Bale, young attackers want to play that wide forward role.

They could have gone for someone like Cavani but I would rather Utd gamble on a young talent than go down that Falcao route again. The weakness of the squad is a concern, ideally you would want to bring him in slowly. The same with Depay, he looked a little jaded against Swansea, this is an attritional league.

He'll break 100 mil when he moves to real in 3 or 4 years. He'll be magnificent with Rooney and/or Mata supplying him imo.

Less than £50m I think.

The fee is upsetting because every single club we call from now on will have Martial and 80m euros plastered in their mind. Every chairman and president around europe will try to fleece Woodward because they know he's desperate and hapless.

The player is of decent potential but we've overpaid by £30m at least.

One way to solve this future problem is to sack Woodward.

I don't see how anyone here can say he is shit or amazing unless they can claim to have watched him every week at Monaco in the last two years.

If you've seen him 3 or 4 times in the champions league it is quite clear the lad has bags of potential. Certainly insulting to compare him to the likes of Obertan and Bellion who were £3m punts.

But we've paid the fee of a superstar for a french teenager who hasn't done much in the game. The fear is the impact it will have on him fulfilling his obvious potential and the impact it will have on our clubs future transfer dealings.

That's a good idea. Let's sack him before we see how any of the players he's signed actually do, and after he negotiated the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of football. After all, the interweb said he's rubbish and the interweb is never wrong.

No idea if he has that talent, but van gaal must think so if it's true he's scouted him for a year. Obviously quite a way down the list of targets and was one for the future, but rather this than a sponsor appeasing panic signing of someone like falcao. Seems to have the raw ingredients for van gaal to work with.
