Default Valencia

Two great assists again last night. Anyone know how many that is for the season?

Don't get me started on Valencia

I've been so impressed with him in 2010. He has really found his feet

His delivery is second to none.

Wayne has a great deal to thank him for IMO opinion

Reminds me of Giggs to Cantona a little

I'm with you homes

Not sure how many assists in total he has but I saw on SSN this morning that 5 of Rooneys 23 league goals were set up by Valencia, 4 from Fletcher and 2 from Berbs....can't remember the rest

in the league he has 9, equal with lennon and drogba.

to compare, Nani has played 844 minutes and has 5 assists.

Valencia has played 1954 and has 9.

Before Everton/West Ham Valencia had played 1784 minutes and had 6 assists.

Nani gets way too much stick vs Valencia.

Giggs has played 1207 minutes and got 11 assists.

Rooney seems to really like Valencia, read a quote this morning that said Valencia played two great balls in and that is the difference.

I get the feeling Rooney can't stand nani though

I think for a first season, filling the boots of ronaldo hes been great.
Quick, strong on the ball, good cross, scored goals, made goals just needs a bit more confidence (which will come) at beating a man now and again.
I think he'll turn out to be a steal

Absolutely. You can see the difference in his body language when he plays to when Nani is out there.

Confirmed by his quotes t'other week after the Meeelan game

Body language, his interview last week saying certain players weren't doing their jobs (clearly nani), a few different things.
That ok for you?

although I love valencia's running ability and crossing, it gets irritating when he just kicks the ball and runs behind it to beat a man.

It will work against your spectors, but I am not sure he will ever be useful against a team with good fulbacks since he won't beat his man and he doesn't cross from deep.

he is just a average winger.
decent cross, can run with the ball but has absolutely no variation to his play and has no 'guile'.

being an out and out winger is under-rated far too much. those who have watched united over the years appreciate valencia for what he is, as opposed to just comparing him to his predecessor which is £#%&!ing pointless cos he's a completely different player.

well impressed with his delivery, and wayne / the rest of the team are benefiting.

Well said, how many real out and out wingers can be named in the premiership, there isn't many and as you said wayne is thriving off it

What do you think a winger is in the team to do exactly if it's not to run with the ball and deliver quality crosses?
