The troubled star yesterday made his first public appearance since the scandal, in Liverpool.

He was the special guest at the launch of Hillsborough charity event Run For The 96.

The 40-year-old posed for selfies and presented a signed shirt.

aka Phase 1 of his very public rehabilitation

It’s a measure when it’s private and nothing to lose or gain. Not when the response is hugely media managed and millions in income on the line. In that case the response is consistent with what you’d expect once the incident gained publicity.

He probably organised it.

Someone making a video public concerning a high profile Liverpool player being a @#%&!. Then keeping a public forum updated.

I thought the “escalation” was obvious. I actually assumed from you posting about it that you were a gnarly @#%&!, I would never have had the balls. I can’t criticise your actions in the aftermath of it becoming public though, if have folded and made about 500 quid.

Aside from them he knocks around with tastier characters than that. When we played them in the Europa and the camera panned into the crowd of carragher sat with leading heads from the Liverpool underworld. Magic has been rather lucky that carragher has called off the dogs.

Maybe the gift was the other way round?

Jamie looks traumatised. The handler doesn't want to touch it.

Crouch
"I played for Liverpool and England with 'Carra' for a good few years and, though some people might not want to hear this, he's a great lad. He doesn't need me to say what he did was totally wrong and he knows better than anyone that his actions cannot be defended.

But let's be clear that the incident started with provocation.

Carra crossed the line but there are points when we are all taken towards it"

Sky have to sack him imo.

If I was them i'd fire him, put him in celeb bb, then rehire him. he needs to make that journey. I do think it was a moment of madness but it was still madness.

Way too many people coming out that it's ok to spit if provoked. It's never ok. I've had fights with people but I don't remember spitting at or being spat on as part of those fights.

the only mitigation i'd make is it wasn't a proper spit, it was basically put liquid in your mouth then blow it out rather than hack up phlegm and spit that.

the guy needs to be fired or else it's 'sky spits' the brand.
