We went unbeaten for more than half a season last season. Why not.

It made us even more cautious than we would (admittedly) have been anyway - is this really that hard to grasp?

Don’t try to deflect from your idiotic comment by suggesting it was somehow too sophisticated to grasp.

We’ve been playing really well recently, scored loads of goals, look far better than last year, so we weren’t good at the Vermin, so what? Take a point there year on year, chances are they will beat our main rivals there.

Have read more than a few posts on here excusing the negativity because Mou had to play Jones and Smalling at the back. They are levels above Lovren and Matip as a pair.

And that absolute £#%&!ing fruitcake they had at fullback. Who Sky gave man of the match for no apparent reason. I suppose it had to be someone and there were no other candidates.

It also ignores the fact that you don't have to go ultra negative to protect a shaky defence. You can be positive, dominate the ball, and keep the opposition pinned in their own half, using skilful, creative players.

It was a shit match, still surprised that anyone expected different. Utd at Anfield with Mou's typical big match approach, could only ever be a shit show.

The post mach reaction has been a little extreme, maybe in part because some have been trying to convince themselves that his approach has changed.

Sometimes the best form of defense is attack.

If United had been more adventurous, Liverpool would think twice about pouring forward in the way they did.

A point is always a good result at Anfield, but it was a backs-to-the-wall job for around 75-80 minutes from United. Where we could so easily have lost.

Well you’d hope that with a good start to the season, plenty of goals and some confidence for a change we might have been tempted to give them a bit back, but we didn’t. I think if we’d approached the game the right way -with a bit more balance- that a United win would have been more likely than a Liverpool win, but we simply weren’t brave enough. This is not a good Liverpool team.

I agree of course, but this is Mourinho. This is what we signed on for, pragmatic to a fault, but successful. I feel the same with this non-story over a new contract, engage Mou and then act surprised and offended when he starts acting like a @#%&!? Really?

Lukaku scores at the end of the first half none of this really matters. He literally did the same job with Chelsea against liverpool in the slip game that we all love. Can't expect him to change what is pretty much a winning formula for him really and he's doing pretty well, we are just nobbed off that it was possibly an opportunity lost. The net result is fine ffs

Well if you’re right and this approach is inevitable for certain games then maybe the real question goes to his judgement on which games require it. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; this incarnation of Liverpool are really not that good - especially without their best player.

This match has attracted more media hype than the current champions losing at Palace, who hadn’t scored a £#%&!ing goal all season and more hype than the bummers getting beat by Watford. City are the best team in PL history because they won by 5 goals unprecedented. Let’s focus on United not winning at the rats.

Staggering isn't it. The two you mention both worthy of being the media highlight of the weekend. And everybody focuses on a 0-0 draw at Anfield
