Always respected his effort...even though he was a purple lipped leeds £#%&!er.

Proper down to earth lad as well whenever he came out of old trafford signing autographs for the fans.

Not to mention Milan's league campaign had already gone so they were able to rest their entire side in between the two legs. Meanwhile we were playing an absolutely ridiculously frenetic 2-4 win away at Goodison Park.

Then Kaka is fresh as a daisy and sweeps through our makeshift back line and get his #@&%! and wins the Ballon D'Or for having a few decent games in the Champions League. Ronaldo was robbed of it that season nqat

Alan Smith is a @#%&! and so is anyone who rates him. Still haven't forgotten there were actual people who sided with him over Ronaldo when he supposedley attacked Ronnie in the dressing room at Fulham away.

Pure called it earlier in the thread.

A stain on the club. Don't care how hard he worked or how many legs he broke, should never have been at United. Not only was he a @#%&!, he was also pretty shit.

Agree with all of that, I wasn't even sick after the FA Cup final.

I was against the signing at the time, but scored some decent and important goals in his first season iirc. Never really got going again after his leg break, save for the maybe the Roma 7-1 game.

Celebration after scoring against Roma

Yeah was hard to warm to the £#%&!er given his Munich singing past but he didn't utterly disgrace the shirt. We had worse. Still do.

always like Alan Smith as a person, came across well in interviews and his love for the NFL is awesome!

wish we had a 'Joe Rogan' type UK podcast that footballers respected, think Alan Smith would have some great stories to tell
