@ 5:20. collects with back to goal... turns... delivers wide.... sprints through the middle.... bang!

did the same on park's goal later too. worth watching the whole clip for nani's performance too.

right, I'm going for a little cry now.

Outside of cup finals and league clinchers, this is the most hyped I've been after a match.

Proper roller-coaster European game; vintage United. 1-0 up, 1-2 down, then Rooney equalised.

Injury time, the great Alessandro Nesta comes across to just usher Rooney away from goal and BOOM! What a £#%&!ing hit

Remember the papers headlines across Europe going mad after this game. "The good news is there's another leg" etc

(which we lost 3-0 in the pissing rain)

The pure talent behind the strike. Few tried to call out the goalkeeper but it's just all instinctive brilliance from Rooney.

We'd been eight years outside the European Cup final and you knew we were close. Would have to wait one more year..

I'd literally forgotten about that, probably because of the 2nd leg.

Loved that season

The feel of United stirring again with a young and hungry squad.

Brilliant football that year. Saha first half of the season helped change the attack.
