Some bizarre choices imo:

i find this more outrageous than plymouth or bristol tbh. think of all the well-meaning humble japanese fans - the worst they'll get in the west country is a few funny looks, at least they won't feel the cold press of a knife blade against the back of their neck while some scrote screams "COME 'EAD LA, GIRRUZ ALL YER FUCHN' MUNNY!" |

And say what you want about Milton Keynes, but there's already been the determination to get a stadium there in the first place & there's little doubt it'd get completed (probably be a white elephant afterwards, but that's another matter). Plus there's about a third of the country's population in the South East, and it's also where transport funding always goes, so it's make sense to at least have a third venue there (can't see them using all three London grounds) |

Re: 2018 World Cup cities/stadiums
FIFA are keen on the WC having a legacy in the host country, so the porspect of region like the south west getting shiny new stadium and providing a lasting facility for a backward region, so Plymouth might appeal to the FIFA egos. But failing that, bung them a few quid and they'll host the thing anywhere.
