It is the wins over Utd and Everton that are keeping him in his job, along with his obvious manipulation of their fan base with all the passing of the blame. They whined about transfer spending all last season until anyone diligent enough to check realized that their net spend was greater than Utd. Moved to wages after that ignoring the fact that Utd caught and surpassed Chelsea with double the deficit that Liverpool have on Utd.

It is not as if it is comparable to Wenger who has mounted challenges while making a profit and creating at team that play some very attractive football. Liverpool under Benitez have at best been a studied kick and rush side with a very high tempo.

Absolutely spot on. There's a job for him as a spin doctor after this.

They really ate £#%&!ing shit and are awful to watch.

Sending off aside, they wouldn't have scored if they were still playing now.
They are now a team, like all the other small teams, that treat United as their cup final and they raise their game to suggest this.
