his interview on sky sports was one of the best things they've ever done.

I am 100% in the camp of Fit Fletcher - we beat Barca in 2011.

Can see his advice to struggling players, now -

“If you wedge your face far enough up the boss’ arse, you’ll be able to get away with being f***ing awful for up to 4 years while he waits for you to learn how to play. So long as you eventually have 18 months to 2 years of being slightly above average, you’ll be fine. Trust me!”

Embodiment of mediocrity.

Decent player, but the myth of how good he was has grown massively

He's probably still better than The Scottish Player. As previously said Fletcher was by and large shite followed by not bad for 12 months then back to. Shite.

Came across well as a pundit and talked a lot of sense hope it translates to being a successful coach

As a rule it is important to keep an open mind, to listen to new opinions and subject them to scrutiny and a rigorous review. Sometimes a new view on a previously unchallengeable subject can be illuminating.

However, people not respecting Fletch may as well have as their signature 'I know nothing about Association Football and should stick to 800 pound coats and GTA6 on the PS5 etc.'

He was very good for at least 2 seasons.

He was a workhorse/water carrier but he did his job well. He’d get a lot more credit if he called Sergio Busquets.

how about the opinion of someone totally detached from the current setup and someone with significant experience to counter the lack of top level coaching experience we currently have .

I’m not sure how the insight from fletcher will be different from the insight from carrick for example.

Oh that's a separate point.

He might be a terrible coach. Just saying he was a really good player.
