Ahhh doom! Not even kicked a ball yet for us.

The rest didn't cost out, £7mil max. Name me a "decent" player for that amount.

Villa is a good deal for Barca, but near £40mil (you know they will have got add-ons) for a player nearly 30 and never played out his country would of been a huge gamble.

No i wouldn't, it would of been a risk and he's nearly 30 FFS!

Clubs look at signings now and take into account over future investment, there is non with Villa.

Rather spend same amount/less on a younger player who we can develop and if things go wrong get a decent amount back for him.

there's £20m + right there. on absolutely nothing.

to buy a top class player like Silva, Benzema, you're talking £25m

do you want me to do the maths?

Would be mental to go tbh.
Live in Sunny spain. Get paid £200k a week. Play with Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Villa. Have a great chance of winning a silly amount of silverware and another couple of Champion League's medals.

Yeah, he'd be £#%&!ing stupid.

Berbatov was what 27/28 when we signed him. He cost 30m too.

Villa turned 28 in December. 5 Years in him there easily.

It's all good signing younger players like Oberton, Tosic, the mexican, Diouff etc to develop but you also need top class players in your team to consistently challenge for honours.

You were standing beside a door. If you were 6ft 2 then that door was 10ft high.

Can't some people are suggesting that Villa isnt an excellent signing.

He is the best finisher in the world. Superb display of intent from Barca.
