Docs Red Army

So many great games, the 3-2 against Sunderland, the 4-4 against Sheffield Wednesday are two that stand out, it was indeed a great time to be a Red.

The memories will live with me forever.

Taking anywhere between 10 and 20,000 reds away week after week

Brilliant days

3-2 vs Sunderland was epic. 63000 rammed into OT, the Stret was rocking. Much anticipated as both sides at the top of the table. Beating the berts and Boro (with a young Souness) in the league cup were big wins too.

So was I, aged 10 (thanks Dad), it was packed, from accounts I've read elsewhere it sounded a bit lairy, one Leeds account of the afternoon refers to the United support as 'barbarians' iirc

That was the game that made me a United fan, My older brother was/is a Leeds fan. And as older brothers do, he pissed me off about something, to annoy him back I decided to support United against the Leeds scum in the semi, I took great pleasuer eis teasing him when we won decide to stick with United for the final and of course going on to beat the vermin that year confirmed me as United for life.
