Thumbs up Premier League Years 2006-07

SS1 now

probably my favorite title win bar 1993.

and 1996.

we were so unfancied in the summer. Just couldn't see how Chelsea, who had won 2 back to back titles, wouldn't walk away with it after adding ballack and Shevchenko

we had such a small squad and it was probably the last squad we had where the best 11 was a no brainer.

Ronaldo was sensational this season.

not as profilic as he would become, but he was never easier on the eye imo.

Thumbs up

loved that season

Fulham away - Ronaldo last minute
Liverpool away - O'Shea last kick
Everton away 2nil down with half an hour left or whatever it was.

3 consecutive weekends iirc (or near enough) - absolute goon overload.

Milan at home in the CL semi final was a great night too.

Robbed in the FA Cup final & out on our feet in Europe but one of my favourite ever seasons nqat.

HUGE Stretford end goon on that day. you can see it in the footage too.

the £#%&!ing state of Sheffield United and that utter @#%&! Neil warnock. all they had to do was get a point at home to a wigan side that had lost seven in a row and they £#%&!ed it up

warnock post-match :

"I just feel bitter "

no shit, mate!

The Bolton counter attack

The start of an incredible period of domination.

Ahead of 1995-96 season IMO as our most unexpected title triumph

Chelsea looked unbeatable the previous 2 seasons during which we had played some proper shit on a stick football
They then sign Ballack and Shevchenko while we sell Ruud and only really bring in Carrick

A better squad (like the following season) and we would have won another treble

This was top too -

Rooney hat trick.

Saha linked up really well with Rooney and Ronaldo too.

Rooney chip vs Bolton still best goal he's ever scored.

Sure they nearly scored similar goal just before it too.

Roma. NFT. What a night.

Highlight of the season....

Lot of people saying it was a surprise

The second half of 05/06 United had really begun to click with 10 wins on the trot or some shit, and the league cup final was a huge lift.

Tough decisions on Keane and RvN had been made by the summer of 06 and the WC gave us a another shit storm to fight against as well

We'd also signed Carrick, vastly underplayed signing (on here) at the time at the height of the anti-Glazer/FCUM sideshow.

We had a 15 man squad plus the likes of Ole, Park and later Laarson, all 3 who were slated by the £#%&!wits as finished or shit, but all 3 played a big part at key times.

If you look at our squad you might say it's not that deep, but there's a dozen top class players in it, some of them at or just below world class: Ronaldo, Ferdinand, VDS, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, Heinze, Neville, Rooney, Scholes, Giggs, Laarson, Saha... we also had decent cover in most positions and the best manager in the world at the time...

I always thought we were going to challenge for the title
