G2C Rooney carrying on his club form into the internationals

Tbh his form is a bit of a worry as we all thought given his body shape that after he reached 30 he'd swiftly go into pernament decline and it looks like that is coming to pass

Like others on here, I had no idea this game was happening. Probably same for a few of the team. Thought playing a friendly in June was a wind up until Hodgers called them on Friday and said the hotel was booked.

But why are they playing this game? Some sort of anniversary? Friendship across the water? Money laundering for FAI?

They've got a euro qualifier next week.

Qualifier, and this is probably seen as a more competitive friendly than they usually play.

I thought he was terrible the last third of the season and wasn't that great before that mainly due to not playing up front

His touch seems to be permanently shit these days and also seems so easy to knock off the ball
It's a big worry heading into next season

Read somewhere that lvg and the other coaches have not been overly impressed with Rooney, if we get the players that he wants in then Rooneys days of being first choice are numbered.
