Let's be honest, if you were a FIFA representative and had the choice of

a) vote for Russia and have some tasty Russian Prozzies service you, plus a nice brown envelope

b) Spend the rest of your life in a gulag in Siberia/end up with Polonium-210 sprinkled on your steak and kidney pudding

Which do you think you'd take?

Anyhow, Putin has apparently said he ain't going to the actual announcement tomorrow "to avoid putting undue pressure" on the delegates. Yeah right, as if that was his style, FFS

Much more so, the words of somebody who is already pretty damn certain that they have it in the bag.

This ship has long sailed.

Even if most of football's governing body didn't already despise English football, they sure will after this debacle.

We really need to get with the program and start throwing a few brown envelopes around like everyone else.

We've held just 2 major football tournaments in this country in nearly half a century, whilst France have had about £#%&!ing 4. Even mexico have managed to get 2 world cups.

2018 is going to be such a letdown. I doubt anything in international football will live up to the show Brazil will put on in 2014.

Come to Russia, we are a truly multi-cultural society, and in no way do we like a bit of mither.

Imagine Russia draw an African team.

Picture 36, I imagine he got a bit of a kicking that bloke. Who in God's name kicks off on the Spetnaz, they could probably kill you just by looking at you. Off to the gulags for that fella I reckon.

Understatement of the century

The idea of the World Cup going to a completely racist country, inhabited by complete nutters is surreal.

It was however a quality piece of rioting.
