Who would it be and why? . . . . Inspired by the Scholes thread, mine would be the ginger prince himself. On for the last twenty minutes to bring some composure, he scores a goal akin to his one against Wolves last season or Blackburn at home in 07. I love the way he weaves through in situations like that. Fake to shoot, fake to shoot again, Put Pique and Puyol on their arse and lash it low across the keeper. overshadows Xavi and Iniesta. Accompanied with the jump and underarm fist-pump celebration. Booked in the 94th minute for a wild, mis-timed lunge on Messi. Gets up and laughs. He announces his retirement in a rare post-match interview. Ah, we can but dream.
