Far too much stock put in pre season.

For example Liverpool were thrashed 3-0 by Espanyol tonight and were, apparently, utter shite. But anyone who thinks they won't be challenging for trophies deserves a very large belm.

This was their starting XI fwiw:

Liverpool: Reina, Insua, Carragher, San Jose, Johnson, Benayoun, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Torres

I would say one or two on here might - or do.

But most with a few cells upstairs don't.

dunk - San Jose is a young Spanish defender. I am guessing it was his debut tonight. Nice introduction.

Seeing as the world cup may as well be Europe plus Brazil and Argentina...and Argentina continually do £#%&! all and Brazil have a relatively mediocre side...I assume we can say that football at the moment is utter, utter shit.

so you think international football is not shit? and anyways it is my opinion.

I think champions league and the club football in general is miles ahead of what international football is.

Wilshere looks an unbelievable prospect tbf. His technique and ability is astonishing for a 17 year old kid. He has only just turned 17 as well.

His awareness is very noticeable too. He drifts in to dangerous areas all the time and seems to have that inherent ability of knowing where the ball is going to drop.

His second goal yesterday was class.

I know these games are pre season friendlies etc but he looked very talented last year as well. He is going to be a special player by the looks of things.
