From the past it has to be Tevez for me
He was as vital as anyone in the 2007/08 season and scored a lot of crucial goals that season. Whatever he has done since I can't take anything away from the lad during that season, he ran himself in to the ground for the greater good of the team and was instrumental that night in Moscow. I still maintain Fergie £#%&!ed up big time bringing in Berbatov the following season and allowing him to walk straight in to the side at Tevez expense.

Also Fergie deserves a mention for me. Although not a player he got a lot of shit from both United supporters and ABU's. He may have been a w****r at times, but he was our w****r and responsible for many many years of unbridled joy.
I still think this is a bit of a myth, SAF originally intended to play them both a lot of the time but IMO was put off that after we lost to Liverpool early in the season.

If I can choose a loan player, Larsson. Even though he £#%&!ed us off.

'Proper' players - Robson, VdS, Scholes, loads more.
